May 30th, Roxbury English Class Invited Us To Do A QPR Presentation During The Romeo + Juliet Unit.

9th grade English Teacher, Tina Peters, is going through Romeo+Juliet and was wondering if we could tie in a QPR training about suicide prevention.  She was looking for is for her students to be able to recognize in themselves or a friend the signs of depression/suicide.  Also, what are some steps to help. As we know how the play ends, it ended up being a perfect idea on how to bring it all together. Below are some pictures from the event and a few quotes from the students.

"I would recommend this {training} to friends and family and I would tell them that they should take the course to know what to do with someone suicidal." - 9th grade female

"I want to use these materials to help friends in the future to get them thelp with what they need help with." - 9th grade male

"I would tell them to ask the question and the training made us aware." - 9th grade male

Another one of the many things that ADAC is Able to do is...

To create presentations/ workshops for students based on the schools/organizations need. Topics covered in the past are: leadership, effective communication, bullying, prescription drugs, substance use and abuse, alcohol and college life/dangers of hook-up culture, and others. One thing we pride ourselves on, is the ability to tailor a presentation to fit the need of the school or organization.
